DIDD’s Division of Program Innovation creates new ways for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to use technology, achieve personal goals, increase their independence, and experience greater quality of life at home, at work, and in their community.


The Benefits Counseling Program helps beneficiaries see a clearer pathway to employment by helping them understand the relationship between employment and benefits. The program also assists Medicaid/Medicare beneficiaries understand their coverages.

Employment First and Community Inclusion increases community integrated employment opportunities for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities through emphasizing technology and innovation-based employment supports. Transportation-focused projects are a top priority to help people access work and their communities.

DIDD’s Enabling Technology Program utilizes technology solutions to provide themeans to support individuals’ increased independence in their homes, communities,and their workplaces.

MAPs is a program that will set people with intellectual and developmental disabilities on a path to learn skills to help them work, live independently, learn about their neighborhoods, and find hobbies that interest them. MAPs service give people in the program the tools, technology, and support they need to meet the goal they set for themselves.
