Human Resource Awards Highlight DOHR Leadership

Commissioner Rebecca Hunter was recently named the 2016 HR Executive of the Year by the Middle Tennessee Society for Human Resource Management (MT SHRM).

MT SHRM facilitates the development and guides the direction of the human resource professional while serving as the voice for human resource management issues. Awards are given yearly to deserving individuals from the private and public sectors.

The awards celebrate individuals who have made significant contributions to their organization, the profession and/or the chapter through implementation of best practices, organization design and effectiveness, and alignment and accomplishment of the strategic direction of their company.

Commissioner Hunter is celebrated in the human resource profession as a trailblazer for reform of employment practices, employee development and growth, and for shaping best practices for Tennessee to become the employer of choice. Her tireless dedication to state employees can be seen in her commitment to recruitment, employee programs, professional development, and leadership training.

In addition, the State’s Chief Learning Officer, Dr. Trish Holliday, was named the Development Professional of the Year. Dr. Holliday was the first Chief Learning Officer for a state in the country and prides herself on developing state government leaders for tomorrow. Her innovative and insightful leadership academies and development programs have enabled the State to more effectively manage talent and plan for the workforce of the future.
