Susan Cooper, RN, MSN, FAAN, was appointed Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Health in 2007 by Governor Phil Bredesen.  Cooper earned her Bachelor and MSN degrees at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, where she then served as a faculty member and assistant dean.  She specialized in emergency and intensive care.  She served as TDH Commissioner for five years.
