Position Overview

As a member of the Department of Education’s school nutrition office, you will be responsible for consultative and administrative work of considerable difficulty in developing policies, procedures, and guidelines for the administration and operation of the school nutrition programs (SNP): National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Seamless Summer Option (SSO), Afterschool Snack Program (ASP), Special Milk Program, and the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP).

Work involves identifying and assessing school nutrition needs and developing immediate and long-range plans for meeting those needs in regard to maintaining local compliance. Minimum Qualifications:

Position Overview

ELA (English Language Arts) consultants are an integral part of the CORE regional support team concentrating on providing literacy support across pre-K-12 instruction. This position works with the regional CORE office team to support districts in the region with ELA content and instruction aligned to Tennessee’s academic standards by partnering with district leaders to diagnose, plan, implement, and monitor change ideas that will lead to academic improvement.  

The CORE regional support team focuses on helping districts make changes to three key areas: instruction, assessment, and curriculum. As the consultants provide this support, they help districts consider coherence across their district by ensuring interconnectedness between district elements of culture, structure, processes, resources, and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of two years of full-time, pre K-12 teaching experience or higher education experience related to pre K-12 instruction.

Position Summary:

The Regional Licensure Consultant works with the Division of Educator Licensure team to ensure that school districts across the state are supported in their understanding of laws, rules, policies, and procedures pertaining to educator licensure, with a particular focus on targeted support in their region of assignment. This support is accomplished through the provision of district training (primarily for personnel with an HR role) on laws, rules, policies, procedures, and use of the TNCompass application.

The Regional Consultant is also responsible for effective and efficient processing of licensure applications, as needed, as well as ensuring timely and accurate responses to educators’ requests for assistance. The Regional consultant serves as the first level of support for issue district issue escalation and requests prior to escalating exceptional issues to the Licensure Program Manager and Director of Licensure. The person in this role will support the team in achieving licensure processing goals both directly, through processing licensure transactions, and indirectly through provision of targeted issue handling and processing of more complex application types.

Position Summary:

HTL Coordinators will support individual LEA engagement in a rural district collaborative designed to support local students, educators, and families with achieving shared goals related to postsecondary and workforce success. They will support the development and maintenance of strong regional partnerships and will also engage regularly with the HTL Project Director within the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE) to work towards replicability of the rural collaborative across Tennessee. At the individual district level, they will facilitate project communication, development of deliverables and reports, fiscal management, and communication with the Tennessee Department of Education and other state agencies as needed. This role will also involve coordinating with other key district leaders and educators to facilitate strong implementation of program initiatives. This role will report directly to district superintendents (or their designee) and will engage regularly with the HTL Project Director and the state to ensure alignment of priorities to program initiatives and goals as well as to promote learning around sustainability and replicability of the model. This position will be located within or near their district of employment.

Minimum Qualifications:

 Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and experience equivalent to four years of full-time professional educational, instructional, or supervisory/administrative work.

   Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in education, public policy, management, finance, or other relevant areas.

3-5 years of experience in project management, particularly in educational or government settings.

Strong knowledge of Tennessee's educational landscape.

Essential Functions

Project Management

Meet regularly with district superintendent or designee for planning and reporting as well as sharing progress with state agency leaders.

Engage with individual district teams and partner Coordinator to monitor progress toward goals and objectives of HTL University.

Manage key partnerships at the district, regional, and state level to support strong coordination for project initiatives.

Develop and execute project plans, timelines, and budgets to support project management.

Communication and Reporting

Maintain open and effective communication with project stakeholders, including the Tennessee Department of Education Project Director to provide regular updates on project progress.

Fiscal Management
