Standing Order on Settlement Approvals for Residents of Montgomery, Stewart and Houston Counties

The chief judge is charged with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Court of Workers’ Compensation Claims. Tenn. Code Ann. § 50-6-238(b)(2) (2022).

The Court holds in-person monthly settlement approvals at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville, Tennessee, for the convenience of parties who live and/or work nearby.

Effective March 1, 2023, requests for settlement approval for residents of these counties must be presented at the Montgomery County Courthouse and may not be presented in Nashville. Questions regarding the specific dates and times for approvals in Clarksville (generally the second Tuesday of each month) should be directed to the court clerk or staff attorney. After March 1, 2023, parties who do not comply with this order may be referred for the potential imposition of penalties. Id. at -118(6).

A special setting at Nashville or another Court location may be requested by filing a motion with the court clerk. Tenn. Comp. R. & Regs. 0800-02.21.-11(4) (February, 2022) For good cause shown, the Court will grant these requests. All requests must be accompanied by an affidavit or Rule 72 declaration from the employee directed to the chief judge.
