Field Trip FAQ

We offer field trips from March through October, excluding August. Field trips are offered on Wednesdays starting at 10:00 a.m. and typically last 1.5 hours.

**Please note that on occasion, field trip reservations are subject to changes or cancellations due to the nature of the Tennessee Residence’s role as a family home and location of state business. We will always try our best to give as much notice as possible in the event of a change to your reservation. We will work with you to reschedule your field trip should a cancellation occur.**

The maximum number of students per field trip is 60. We encourage 2-3 teachers or adult chaperones per 25 students.

Field trips are geared towards students in grades 2 through 7. Students in higher grade levels are encouraged to sign up for a Historical Tour.

If you are traveling by school bus or large charter bus, we ask that you do not pull into our driveway upon your arrival. Please have your bus driver stop in the street and our security team will assist you in safely unloading and crossing the street onto our driveway. From here it is a 200 yard walk up hill to our front entrance. Please let us know if someone in your group is in need of transportation assistance. Your bus may pick you up at the entrance at the conclusion of the field trip.

If you are traveling by individual cars, vans or SUVs, you may park onsite. We encourage you to carpool with other students and chaperones as parking is limited. Our security team will direct you where to park once you are on property.

Field trips are free of charge.
