Barbara Brown Street is vice-president of Community
relations for the JA Street General Contractor Company in the Tri Cities of
Bristol, Kingsport, and Johnson City, Tennessee. As a successful educator and a longtime patron for improving community arts and non-profit organizations, Barbara is always busy dedicating her time for community improvement. Several of her non-profit activities include: Rocky Mount Museum,Piney Flats, Tennessee; Barter Theatre, Abingdon, VA; United Methodist Children’s Home, Greenville, Tennessee; Mountain Mission School, Grundy, VA; Paramount Theatre of Bristol, Tennessee; Appalachian Sustainable Development; The Boys and Girls Club, Bristol, Tennessee and Grundy, VA and Speedway Children’s Charities; Bristol, Tennessee.

Barbara is a master gardener in both Tennessee and Virginia, and a proud DAR member of Fort Chiswell Chapter, Bristol, VA. Barbara earned a BS degree in Business Education and Psychology from Pikeville University, Pikeville Tennessee. Her master’s work was completed at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Indiana, PA. She taught over 35 years on both the secondary and college level in Pennsylvania. She is married to JA Street and has lived in Bristol, Tennessee since 2009. Barbara has three children:  Jon, April, and Jason and four grandchildren.
