About Us
The Office of Evidence and Impact (OEI) was established in the fall of 2019. OEI fosters a culture of data and evidence-based policymaking and budgeting that pursues the best outcomes for Tennesseans. With a vision to empower decision making that serves every Tennessean, OEI uses data to inform decision makers and ensure we invest in programs that work.
What We Do
Evidence-Based Budgeting
We work with the Budget Division to help departments make informed and well-justified funding requests in alignment with the Tennessee Evidence Framework.
Program Inventory
We help departments inventory and evaluate the programs they offer to Tennesseans, identifying whether their services are producing positive outcomes.
Enterprise Data Analytics
We promote and facilitate data sharing among departments to gather deeper insights about program outcomes, identify gaps in the State's service, and inform intelligent policy design.
