Area Agency Plans and Reports
The Older Americans Act (OAA) authorized the establishment of an aging network that includes state agencies on aging, as well as area agencies.
The Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability, in its role as the State Unit on Aging, administers the OAA through policy, planning and advocacy activities. Planning is a significant part of the OAA for the State Unit on Aging and for all of the Area Agencies on Aging and Disability (AAADs).
An Area Plan is a detailed statement of the manner in which a AAAD is developing a comprehensive and coordinated community-based system throughout the planning and service area (PSA) for all services authorized under the OAA and state-funded programs.
