inman group homeInman Group Home is an eight-bed program located in a rural setting in Tullahoma, Tenn. Serving both an a transition and diversion program for females, Inman contains a school and provides counseling services, as well as part-time work opportunities for qualified youth.

henderson house and yalunda walkerHenderson House is an eight-bed facility for males located in Jackson, Tenn. The program provides placement for males ages 17 and up who need to be enrolled in a step-down program prior to being released from the custody of the Department of Children’s Services. Henderson’s treatment program focuses on independent living skills, employment and GED preparation.

johnson city boys group home and betsey brownJohnson City Boys Group Home provides GED preparation, job training, advanced educational assistance, independent living skills, tutoring, counseling and employment opportunities. Designed for older male youth in the Northeast region of the state that can function in the community with limited supervision, the group home includes an in-house school.

The Observation and Assessment Center is the sole observation and assessment center operated by Department of Childrens Services. Located in Johnson City, TN, the Center serves the eight counties of the Northeast Tennessee region. The predispositional assessments offer recommendations to the respective juvenile courts for specific treatment needs that are imposed during the juveniles dispositional hearing. The Center offers on-site educational services, case management services, individual, group and family counseling, secure transportation, and independent living skills. Use of contractual resources as well as community support through approved volunteers is utilized for additional facilities services. The average length of stay for the residents is approximately 40 days.


madisonville group home and connie sloanMadisonville Group Home is an 8 bed female facility located in Madisonville, TN, with a mission to provide a safe, therapeutic environment for students in which they can heal, grow, and mature and become ready for a successful re-entry to their community as productive citizens. Independent living skills, individual and group counseling, community involvement, complete health care, recreational and educational activities, parenting classes, employment opportunities, education through the local high school and GED preparation are provided. MGH accepts both step-down referrals from youth development centers and diversion referrals from the community.

nashville transition centerThe Nashville Transition Center is a unique community based program within the Department of Children’s Services. It consists of two facilities, Odom and Tallman Cottages, co-located on one site in Nashville, Tennessee. The Odom Cottage has a capacity for twelve males and offers transition related services. The Tallman Cottage also has a capacity for twelve males and serves as a diversion program accepting referrals from the community. With both programs under one umbrella a wide range of treatment options are available to include an in-house education component, employment, independent living skills, GED preparation and mental health counseling.

peabody residential treatment center and terry marklePeabody Residential Treatment Center is located in Memphis, Tennessee. This facility is designed to provide a full array of treatment services in a residential setting for dual diagnosed adolescent males with a primary diagnosis of mild mental retardation. The program emphasis is helping each student develop more appropriate social skills and becoming better equipped to function in the community. This objective is realized through group and individual therapy and day to day reinforcement of positive behavior.
