Bedford County

Bedford County was formed in 1807 from
parts of Rutherford County and Indian lands
(Acts of Tennessee 1807, Chapter 37).

The county seat is Shelbyville.

There were fires at the Bedford County courthouse in 1863
and 1934. There was a tornado at the courthouse in 1830.
