Institutional and State Planning Priorities

The Institutional and State Planning Priorities Standard of the Performance Funding program is designed to provide incentive for institutions to improve the quality of their academic programs by evaluating progress toward specific goals contained in their institutional strategic plans and the state strategic plan. The standard is divided into two sections to accommodate planning for both institutional priorities and state priorities. Institutions are required to develop two to five goals for each section, stated in quantifiable terms with measurable benchmarks for each year of the cycle. During the 2000-05 performance funding cycle, institutions can earn up to 10 points for successful attainment of these goals.

The Institutional Planning Priorities section of the standard allows institutions to derive goals from their institutional strategic plan. This provides an opportunity for campuses to tailor their goals to their institutional strategic planning process.
