Smart Commute for State Employees

The State of Tennessee offers many options for its employees in Middle Tennessee to get to work. For years, state employees have had access to free parking, but the state now offers many more choices in downtown Nashville. Some options you will find are priority parking for carpool, vanpoolers, and motorcycles; Swipe N Ride-free MTA bus pass; and bicycle locker storage. Now, there are multiple ways you can choose to get to work that can be cheaper and healthier for you!

Bike Locker Program
Get out and get some exercise. Unwind from work on your way home. Save money on gas. There are many reasons to ride your bike to work. You can also use the Swipe N Ride bus pass in conjunction with your bike by just putting your bike on the MTA buses.

To make biking to work or participation in MTA’s Bike and Ride program more user-friendly, the State of Tennessee has installed bicycle racks and secure bicycle lockers for state employee use in several downtown locations. For a list of locker locations or to apply for a locker, download the Bike Locker Rental Agreement (PDF). For more information on the bike locker rentals, call the Department of General Services at (615) 253-7866.
