Nashville, Tennessee --- The victim of a deadly hit and run crash last night in Tipton County has been identified by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. 14 year-old Dilland B. Cole was struck and killed as he was riding his bicycle just before 6:00 p.m. in Atoka, TN.
Investigators say Cole and a friend were riding their bikes on Simmons Road near Mathis Road when a vehicle traveling eastbound veered into the westbound lane and hit Cole. The teen was thrown from his bicycle and pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle involved in the crash did not stop.
THP is searching for a dark colored, possibly dark green, mini-van. There is likely damage to the left front section of the vehicle, including the hood and lower left corner of the windshield. Anyone with any information is urged to contact THP at 901-543-6281.
