Nashville, Tennessee --- The Department of Safety has opened a new Driver License Station at 2714 Union Avenue Extended, in midtown Memphis. The station is in an office building at the corner of Union Avenue Extended and Poplar Avenue. It began serving customers this morning. It is one of seven new stations that are opening across the state. The other locations are in Fayette, Fentress, Hamilton, Obion, Robertson and Rutherford Counties.
Interim Department of Safety Commissioner Gerald Nicely said, “This station, along with the new ones in Fayette and Obion Counties, should make driver license services more convenient for people in West Tennessee. We’re glad to provide these resources to people in the area. Our long-term goal is to see that every Tennessean is no more than 30 minutes or 30 miles from a driver license station.”
