As stated on the Exam Announcement, to be eligible for testing you must qualify within 90 days of the closing date of the announcement. Therefore, you must qualify on or before October 29, 2008
Sergeant Qualifications:
5 years as Trooper; OR
3 years as Trooper + associate's degree.
Lieutenant Qualifications:
2 years in THP Sergeant classification + 2 year associate's degree + 3 years THP experience OR
2 years as THP Sergeant + 5 years THP experience, with NO degree.
You must submit a newapplication.
Applications can only be submitted from July 15th through July 29th. Please do not attempt to do so before July 15th - the system will not allow you to enter the job classification beforehand.
Please be advised that a few of the GO numbers listed on the Job Knowledge List have been revised and the list will be updated for future reference. Per our Research, Planning & Development Division, the following should be noted:
127 = Never Existed
155-1, 156, and 157 = Superseded by 155 215-2 = Superseded by 204 412= Superseded by 411
524-2 = Superseded by the All Hazards Plan
750 = Superseded by the Physical Inventory Procedures Manual

If you submit your application online, please fax your education transcripts to the Department of Human Resources at 615-401-7626. They will scan, index and combine your faxed information with your application. Be sure to include your name and social security number on the fax cover page.
Please also fax your transcripts to our Human Resources office to be placed in your personnel file at 615-253-2095.
You may fax DOHR a copy of any military paperwork (DD214) as well for their records; however, please note that veteran points are not added to a promotional register score. Veteran points are only added to an appointment register score (ie: initial hire as a Trooper).
Bonus points from your annual Personnel Evaluation (PE) are added to your final promotional register score (ie: PE score of 5 would add 3 bonus points to your score, etc).
Any prior CVE service time counts the same as THP service time.
