Overview of Online Services | Which Taxes Can I File Electronically? | Register a New Business, Add a Location or Change a Business Address | Register for Electronic Filing and Payment | Electronic Payment Options | Additional Information
Under Tennessee law, many taxes administered by the Department of Revenue must be filed and paid electronically. Even if not required to do so, businesses are encouraged to voluntarily register to file and pay electronically. Using this method allows you to make sure your calculations are correct and, in many cases, you may schedule the payment to be made at a later date.
Currently you can file the following taxes electronically with the Department of Revenue: business tax, consumer use tax, franchise & excise taxes, individual income tax, professional privilege tax and sales and use taxes.
Sales and use tax and business tax users must register to receive a special user name and password before filing electronically. The Department of Revenue has an online video with step-by-step instructions on how to register for electronic filing. You can also view a printed guide of instructions by downloading the Registering for Electronic Filing user guide. Or, go directly to the application by clicking here.
Please Note: Professional privilege, franchise and excise, individual income, and consumer use taxes are filed directly on our website and do not require an electronic filing user name and password.
