McMinn County Man Arrested for Tax Evasion
Monday, August 28, 2023 | 02:27pmENGLEWOOD, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to indictment and arrest of Cody McBroon, age 26. McBroon was arrested for two counts of tax evasion and booked into the McMinn County Jail Friday.

Wyatt, age 52, was arrested for tax evasion and booked into the Cumberland County Jail on Wednesday. Bond was set at $5,000.

Former Knox County Business Owner Pleads Guilty to Tax Fraud
Thursday, July 20, 2023 | 03:25pmKnoxville, Tenn. - The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to last week’s guilty plea of Jimmy Allen Ball, Jr., former owner of Snappy Tomato Pizza in Knoxville. Judge Steven W. Sword accepted Ball’s guilty plea to theft of property and two counts of violating Tennessee revenue laws. The charges stemmed from Ball’s failure to report taxable sales at the former business. Ball was sentenced to six years of probation and ordered to pay restitution in the amount $69,401.88.

Local Business Owner Pleads Guilty to Theft
Tuesday, July 18, 2023 | 08:43amSpringfield, TN - A Springfield businessman is guilty of theft after filing false sales tax returns. The Special Investigations Section of the Tennessee Department of Revenue conducted the investigation that led to Friday’s guilty plea of Bruce M. Head, President of Stewart Williams Company, Inc., in Springfield. Judge Robert T. Bateman accepted Head’s guilty plea to one count of theft over $10,000. Head was ordered to pay $255,601.00 in restitution to the Department and placed him on five-years’ probation. Head’s guilty plea stemmed from charges he filed false sale tax returns from December 2014 through August 2017 on behalf of the Stewart Williams Company.
