The following tax types will be available in TNTAP in March 2017. Read on for information about what you can do for each tax type.

Sales and use tax

TNTAP offers several new features for filing and paying sales tax in Tennessee. If you have previously filed this tax electronically through the Department of Revenue’s website, you will need to create a new username and password for this new website. By creating a TNTAP logon, users can:

  • register new business locations
  • access account information
  • edit account information such as name, address and contact information
  • view correspondence and send messages to the Department
  • submit electronic tax returns and payments
  • view and amend tax returns

One new feature of TNTAP is consolidated sales tax filing. Taxpayers with more than one location registered for sales tax will report tax information for all locations on one tax return. Because all locations will be reported in the same filing, all sales tax locations will need to be filed using the same filing frequency in TNTAP. Examples:

  • Business A has five sales tax accounts. Three accounts file monthly and the other two file quarterly. All locations should now file monthly.
  • Business B has ten sales tax accounts. Seven accounts file annually and three accounts file quarterly. All locations should now file quarterly.
