Mission Statement

The Mission of Boomer Careers to offer, and make known, the most effective, efficient and comprehensive workforce development services that are available to the largest population in Tennessee, the Boomers.

Our Vision is to prepare for the future by creating more employment opportunities for Tennesseans aged 40+ to achieve their full potential, appeal to more employers and answer the needs of the local communities.

Prior to Boomer Careers the only older worker training program was SCSEP. With the launching of the Boomer Careers Web site, the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development is now targeting the individuals age 40+. This is in addition to the services offered through the SCSEP. The guidelines for SCSEP remain the same as in previous years and is a federally funded program.
