Bill and I are excited for the third annual Tennessee’s Home for the Holidays open house event at the Tennessee Residence held during the first two weeks in December. We feel very blessed to live in our state’s beautiful executive residence, but the Residence is also Tennessee’s home. Tennessee’s Home for the Holidays is a wonderful opportunity to welcome guests from all across the state during this very special season.
Over the past two years, nearly 10,000 visitors have participated in the open house, and we hope to build on what has been a fun holiday tradition. This year, we will be highlighting “Tennessee Legends,” showcasing influential people, places, and events throughout our state’s history to help depict the story of our rich heritage. Through partnerships with the Tennessee State Museum, The Hermitage, Davy Crockett Birthplace State Park, the East Tennessee Historical Museum, and the Sequoyah Birthplace Museum, we will feature unique historical treasures as part of our decorations. We will continue the theme in Conservation Hall by highlighting Tennessee living legends, including Dolly Parton and Pat Summit, with student-made ornaments.
Bill and I hope that you and your friends and family will visit the Tennessee Residence for this year’s Tennessee’s Home for the Holidays, and we thank you for helping us bring holiday cheer to Tennessee’s Home!
