First Lady Reads to Krisle Elementary School Students

3/5/2009

In observance of Read Across America, Tennessee First Lady Andrea Conte visited Krisle Elementary School on March 5 where she read to pre-K and first grade students.

“I am so impressed what they're learning,” Conte observed about students’ reading abilities.

Conte also talked to students and answered questions about the importance of reading. Read Across America is a week-long celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday that promotes reading. To learn more about Read Across America, visit http://www.nea.org/readacross/.

“I enjoy visits like this,” she said. “It's so much fun for me to do this. I always find children so energizing.”
