First Lady's Luncheon Raises Funds for Tennessee Residence

4/20/2007

First Lady Andrea Conte and Governor Phil Bredesen were joined by more than 500 guests on Thursday, April 19, for the “First Lady’s Luncheon” to benefit the Restoration and Preservation of The Tennessee Residence.

The luncheon took place on the lawn of the Tennessee Residence and featured the décor renderings and the interior design plans for the soon-to-be restored Tennessee Residence. More than $250,000 was raised from the luncheon to fund the implementation of the interior design plan.

A china pattern for the residence was also unveiled, and a handmade dining room chair design and a model of the new outdoor sculpture were displayed at the luncheon. The event also featured a silent auction which included memorabilia donated by Governor Bredesen and First Lady Conte, artwork and jewelry provided by Tennessee artists, and invitations for tea and a tour of the restored residence with the First Lady.
