Construction Management
Construction managers regularly meet with state agency representatives, contractors, architects and others to monitor and coordinate all phases of a contruction project.
Representing the facility "owner" i.e. the State of Tennessee, contruction managers essentially provide contruction administration services. They track and control construction costs against the projected budget, review workmanship and avoid or minimize cost overruns.
The section is assisted in this work by a cost management consultant under contract with the State of Tennessee.
