Report Fraud, Waste, and Abuse

Tennessee Code Annotated 8-19-501 states:

It shall be the duty of any official of any agency of the state having knowledge of shortages of monies of the state, or unauthorized removal of state property, occassioned either by malfeasance or misfeasance in office of any state employee, to report the same immediately to the Comptroller of the Treasury.

Finance and Administration employees should immediately notify the Office of Internal Audit if they are aware of any fraud, waste, or abuse by F & A employees, vendors, or contractors. Internal Audit will then act as the central contact with the Comptroller's Office.
