F&A’s Values
“Our Code of Conduct”

It is important that as an organization we have commonly held values to guide us in accomplishing our mission. The Finance and Administration leadership have identified shared departmental values or guidelines for how we conduct our business and how we treat one another.

Statement of Values
We value our customers and recognize that we are in the business to serve. We are committed to developing beneficial relationships with our internal and external customers, and believe that active customer involvement in our ongoing improvement efforts is the best philosophy for mutual success.

The Values Statement above addresses our commitment to our customers, both external (public and private agencies) and internal (Finance and Administration employees and co-workers). This commitment to customers and employees is a direct reflection of how our values are tied to the principles of Continuous Improvement, particularly Customer Satisfaction.

The other Finance and Administration values are divided in three categories: Organizational, People-Centered, and Personal.

Organizational Values
The organizational values reflect the behavior of the department as a whole and the different divisions within the department.

  • Continuous Improvement
We value the philosophy of continually improving everything we do, and are committed to becoming a customer-focused organization.
  • Mission-Driven
We are committed to ensuring that our work contributes to our mission and delivers measurable, relevant results.
  • Teamwork
We value teamwork as the primary basis for ongoing process improvement and organizational design

People-Centered Values
People-centered values address the behavior of Finance and Administration employees working together as a group or team.

  • People
We value people as our most important resource and are committed to creating an environment in which full personal growth and contribution of all employees are encouraged, guided, and supported.
  • Learning
We value lifelong learning, both inside and outside of the workplace, and are committed to creating an environment in which leaders and employees are continuously and visibly supported in learning activities.
  • Creativity and Innovation
We value creativity and innovation and are committed that these be encouraged, recognized, and utilized.

Personal Values
All of the values are meant to be displayed by Finance and Administration employees on an individual level; however, the personal values directly address the ethical behavior of the individual. If each individual displays these personal values, then the department as a whole will display them.

  • Trustworthiness
We understand that organizational trust, empowerment, and alignment all depend on trustworthiness.
  • Honesty and Integrity
We value honesty and integrity and are committed to establishing relationships and conducting business from a position of high ethical standards.
  • Forgiveness
Understanding is a key element of forgiveness. Forgiveness and understanding are critical for effective personal and business relationships.
