Office of Shared Technology Services The Office of Shared Technology Services (OSTS) organization currently provides information technology services to both the Department of Finance and Administration (F&A) and the Department of General Services (DGS). OSTS was formed July 1, 2005 and is composed of three major groups - Customer Support Services, Planning and Finance, and Business Systems Support. The Customer Support Services group is responsible for meeting the hardware, software and communications infrastructure needs of our customers. This group provides technical support to our customers and provides on-going upgrades to all hardware and software in the departments. This group handles all infrastructure planning and the network deployments of infrastructure related software. This group handles all system security access, manages help desk information and processes all technology purchases for the departments. This group provides web publishing services and programming for client server and web-based applications. This group also ensures that existing system production is executed appropriately and that associated business needs are met. The Planning and Finance group is responsible for the administration of technology-based contracts on behalf of OSTS customers. They are responsible for the processing, allocation, review and reporting of technology finances for OSTS customers. This group also coordinates the efforts involved in preparing the annual three-year Information System Plan that is required of OSTS customers. The Business Systems Support group is responsible for systems analysis and problem solving for existing systems, new development projects and systems maintenance efforts. Systems analyst duties, involved in the maintenance of production applications, include 24 x 7 on-call support and preparedness for disaster recovery. |
