Foliage
Tennessee
offers a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees.
In the spring, blooming dogwood trees and rhododendron
draw tourists by the thousands, especially to
the Knoxville area. Leaves are normally fully
out by late April/early May throughout the state.
Fall foliage is spectacular as well, particularly
in the mountains of East Tennessee. In that
region, color change begins in early October
and peaks around the third week of the month.
Deciduous trees are usually bare by Thanksgiving.
In Middle and West Tennessee, color change begins
in mid-October and peaks by Halloween. Deciduous
trees are normally bare by early December.
