Nolichucky River Watershed (06010108) of the Tennessee River Basin – Group 5 (2008)

Virgin Falls State Natural Area Nolichucky River Watershed Meeting - Nov. 12, 2013

This was the fifth watershed public meeting held in the Nolichucky River Watershed since 2000, upon implementation of the watershed management approach. This meeting, like the others, brought together many different agencies, groups and citizens and engaged the public by sharing information about the people who live in the watershed and the activities and projects that are in place or are being planned. Agencies and groups had the chance to seek opportunities to collaborate efforts and citizens had a chance to learn about their watershed and about water quality issues. Displays filled the room and offered a great chance for hands on education for all ages. (Partnerships: Dept. of Agriculture, Boone Watershed, Historic Jonesborough, NRCS, TVA, Trout Unlimited, UT Knoxville and Washington County.)
