Local Parks and Recreation Fund, Land and Water Conservation Fund and Recreational Trails Program Grants Available (The application deadline is April 11, 2014 at 4 p.m. CST.)
Recreation Educational Services (RES) recently conducted a survey of Parks and Recreation Departments across the State of Tennessee. The results include the services, salaries and inventories of local Parks and Recreation Departments to assist in future planning. The study also allows each community to compare their current standing in the areas of salaries, recreation programs and facilities, and land acreage with other communities comparable in population and budget.
Information about both the RTP and TRIP grants, along with other recreation or conservation-based grant programs that may be available in the future can be found on TDEC’s website.
The Greenways and Trails program is here to encourage Tennessee communities to save their special green spaces, to promote the volunteer spirit of Tennesseans and to work to preserve and conserve the natural and cultural resources that make each community in our state special.
