The park has several all year round interpretive programs that can accommodate school groups, church groups, and families of all ages. Call the Ranger Nature Station at (901) 543-7770 for more information.

Hiking

The Park has over 6 miles of hiking trails from moderate to rugged. The Discovery Trail is a 6-mile continuous loop with a number of scenic points of interest including the Chucalissa Indian Village and Wetlands.

Picnic Facilities

There are 35 individual picnic tables, placed throughout the park that blend nicely with the natural surroundings. Grills are available at each site, and restrooms and group pavilions are also available. The park has four shelters that can accommodate from 40 to 120 people. All shelters have grills, nearby bathroom facilities, picnic tables and electric outlets. Reservations are required and should be made well in advance.

Swimming

The Olympic-size pool is centrally located in the main recreation area of the park, and is served by a bathhouse and vending machines.

It is open from early summer through Labor Day. Lifeguards are on duty during regular swimming hours. All park public pools will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, except Holiday weeks. Please call the park for those schedules. Camping guests will pay half price for admission to the pool.

Other Activities

Grassy fields provide for outdoor games such as frisbee, ballgames, and other types of open-space activities. There is a softball field, basketball and tennis courts. Children's playground equipment is located near the picnic area.
