Natchez Trace is located in Carroll, Henderson, and Benton counties in West Tennessee. It lies 35 miles east of Jackson off of Interstate 40 between Nashville and Memphis. Take Exit 116 off of I-40 to the parks main entrance. For a map and specific driving directions, visit MapQuest.com

Fairview Gullies Hike - June 2

With the many acres of scenic woodlands, the park includes four lakes, a swimming beach, a 47 room resort inn and restaurant complex, cabins, group lodge, camping areas, picnicking sites, playgrounds, a ball field, a regulation pistol firing range, picturesque hiking trails, a wrangler camp, 250 miles of horse riding trails, a park store, and archery range. Located at I-40, exit 116, this area is composed of a State Park, State Forest and a WMA with a total of 48,000 acres. The Tennessee Division of State Parks, Tennessee Division of Forestry and the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency share administration of this area.

Historical Significance

Natchez Trace State Park is named for the famous "Natchez to Nashville" highway, an important wilderness road during the early 18th century. A western spur of The Trace ran through a portion of what is now the park. The park was built as part of President Roosevelt's "New Deal" program. The land was bought from residents who could no longer make a living farming the land because of extensive erosion problems.

Conference Center and Meeting Rooms

Natchez Trace Inn & Conference Center offers over 3000 square feet of meeting/banquet space in three conference rooms, which will accommodate up to 200 people. Reservations can be taken up to a year in advanced by groups staying at the Inn or Cabins/Villas.

Restaurant

For guests residing in the inn, the restaurant provides a free continental breakfast Monday through Friday only from 7:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. The restaurant can seat 150 people and serves southern style buffet cuisine.

Box lunches and catering are available for breaks, banquets, or cookouts throughout the park.  Check out our banquet menu guide for more information.

Breakfast buffet is served Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
Lunch is served Wednesday through Sunday from 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
Dinner is served Wednesday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.

Groups may contract a full breakfast with prior arrangements.

Lodging

Natchez Trace State Park offers a variety of accommodation options. The park has a 47-unit lodge with single, double and suite accommodations, 17 cabins and 10 villas fully equipped for housekeeping, a group lodge, 208 campsites and 5 air conditioned camping cabins. Backcountry camping and wrangler camping are also available.

Activities

There's a lot to do and see at Natchez Trace State Park! Enjoy a picnic at one of our picnic areas, or reserve a picnic pavilion for your family reunion or company picnic. A newly renovated museum is located within Park Headquarters. Exhibits include local and park history as well as a nature center featuring a wildlife viewing area, interactive computer and aquarium. Natchez Trace State Park also offers a variety of natural, historic, recreational, and cultural programs. Activities to enjoy at the park include archery, basketball, horseshoes, ping-pong, firing range, softball, tennis, volleyball, board games (no electronic games), playgrounds and horseback riding.
