Bledsoe Creek State Park is a 164-acre site located on the Bledsoe Creek embayment of the Old Hickory Reservoir near the old 1780s settlement of Cairo.

Boating

The park offers 2 boat launch ramps-one is located inside the park for registered campers only-one is located just outside the park on Ziegler's Fort Road for the general public.

Camping

NEW – Bledsoe Creek Campground Reservations are now available online.

Park features fifty-seven (57) level campsites, 65 feet in length and 25 feet wide, paved sites, new borders and fire rings, grills, lantern holders, and picnic tables. Forty-three (43) campsites have 50/30 amp service, and 14 will have only 30 amp service available.

Recent improvements also make the campsites compliant with the American Disabilities Act. There is a new bathhouse facility with showers and lavatories now available.

Reservations are taken for campsites by calling the park or online.

Dumping fees are included in camping fee.

Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash at all times.

Fishing

Bledsoe Creek offers lake fishing on Old Hickory Lake. Catches include bass, bluegill, catfish and crappie. A valid TN fishing license is required. Fishing licenses are not sold at the park but may be purchased at off-site locations near the park.

Fishing is limited to non-wildlife observation areas.

New Mayo Wix Trail is paved trail accessible to all visitors.

Hiking Trails

There are approximately 6 miles of hiking trails, 1 mile of which is paved and accessible to persons with a disability. Trails are open year round.

Picnic Facilities

The park has 2 large picnic shelters. Shelter #1 can accommodate up to 50 people and shelter #2 can accommodate up to 150 people. Pavilions are equipped with grills and have water spigots.

Day Use Features:

There is one picnic area that has approximately 20 individual picnic sites. Each site is equipped with a grill. There is also a ballfield and playground.

Programs

Memorial Day Weekend - All programs and activites are free and open to the public.

It's A Bugs Life on Friday, May 24 at 7:30 p.m. CT
Come enjoy a fun filled evening of free entertainment at the park. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, May 25 at 9 a.m. CT
Meet by the park office for a nature-oriented scavenger hunt on the Mayo-Wix trail.

Ancient Animals on Saturday, May 25 at 2 p.m. CT
Get out of the ...sun and learn about the plants and animals that roamed the Earth millions of years ago. This is your chance to see real fossils up-close and personal! Program will held in the small pavilion (shelter #1).

Bubble Glow on Saturday, May 25 at 7:30 p.m. (or dark) CT
Do you love bubbles? Do you love things that glow? Then head on over to the field by the large pavilion (stage area) for a chance to blow bubbles that glow in the dark. Bubbles will be provided, but you are more than welcome to bring your own as well.

Camper Crafts on Sunday, May 26 at 3 p.m. CT
Want to record all the fun you've had camping? Stop by the large pavilion (shelter # 2) and make your very own campers journal. All supplies are provided, just bring yourself.

Park Rangers can provide environmental programs year round with some advance notice.
