Public Notices for Natural Areas

The following is a list of current public notices, public hearings, and rule-making activities, listed by date posted. Public comment and participation are encouraged on all of these issues. Comments on any issue are welcome

April 5, 2013 - The amendments are for the purpose of revising and updating the rules in terms of better defining responsibilities of the agencies and organizations who manage Natural Resource Areas. The amendments improve the rules to be more consistent in language with present day conservation trends and removes references to out dated policies and unnecessary requirements. 0400-02-08 Amendment. February 1, 2013 - Pursuant to Rule 0400-6-2-.03 (3) of the Rare Plant Protection and Conservation Regulations, the Division of Natural Areas is revising the official state rare plant list of endangered species. The Tennessee Rare Plant Scientific Advisory Committee is required to meet at least once every three years to make changes to the rare plant list. The committee met on December 11, 2012 and as a result of that meeting a number of changes to the endangered plant list are needed. These changes require that the Rare Plant Protection and Conservation Regulations be amended.
