Statewide Student Management System (SSMS)

User Support

Welcome to the Tennessee Statewide Student Management System (SSMS), a comprehensive integrated web-based system that encompasses both a student information system (Star_Student), and a special education system for the development and management of IEP information and a data/reporting tool (EasyIEP).

The SSMS support process is designed to help users with such issues as accessing the application, managing their usernames and passwords, reporting any problems with the application and, most importantly, to provide help in using the application in day-to-day work.

While On-Line Help is immediately available within each application, a secondary support process has been established with a local contact as your initial line of support if On-Line Help does not answer your question. The issue resolution process currently differs between Star_Student and the EasyIEP components within the SSMS. However, this will likely change over time as the two components become more fully integrated.

Once you have completed your SSMS training, before you start to use the system, please review the User Startup Guidepdf (REV 08/01/2007) for important set-up information.

Once you are using the SSMS, the User Support Guidepdf gives you the information you need to contact people if you have an inquiry or problem that can’t be resolved through On-Line Help.

Your school technology support person is your contact for problems with your computer or accessing the SSMS.
