Regional News

The staff of the First TN Center of Regional Excellence are dedicated to providing support to districts that improve outcomes for students. This office is staffed with dedicated and highly qualified team members eager to deploy across the region.

Ms. Mia Hyde serves as the executive director. Hyde has nearly 20 years of teaching experience, with the majority of those years served in Tennessee schools. Prior to this role, she served as the Coordinator of Reading Content and Resources with the Tennessee Department of Education.

Hyde holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary English from Emory & Henry College in Emory, Virginia. She earned a master's of arts degree in Reading/Language Arts from Rider University and is a certified Reading Specialist.
