CODES ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM DIRECTOR NAMED

FOR THE TENNESSEE FIRE SERVICE AND CODES ENFORCEMENT ACADEMY

Bell Buckle, TN – The Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Enforcement Academy is pleased to announce the addition of Linda M. Lichtenberger as the new Program Director of Codes Enforcement.

With more than 20 years of experience in building codes, management and enforcement, Lichtenberger is an active member of the Tennessee Building Officials Association (TBOA).  In 2007, she was elected as the president of the Middle Tennessee Code Officials Association.  She is also an active member of the International Code Council (ICC).

“We are very excited for Linda to join our team and staff at the Academy,” said Leslie Newman, State Fire Marshal and Commissioner for the State of Tennessee Department of Commerce.  “She will be expanding course offerings to code officials across the state and providing the necessary training as more communities adopt updated codes."

Lichtenberger’s previous employment includes working for the City of Murfreesboro Codes Department, Rutherford County Building Codes and the Department of Building Codes for Metro Nashville and Davidson County.  She holds various technical building code certifications from the ICC and the Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy.  Linda is a contributing author to the ICC Building Department Administration 3rd Edition, and was recognized for her dedication and service by receiving the Code Official of the Year award in 1999 and in 2004.

“Linda’s vast knowledge and experience will be a huge asset to not only the Academy but to the building and codes community across the State as well,” said Roger Hawks, Executive Director for the Tennessee Fire Service and Codes Academy.  “We are pleased to have Ms. Lichtenberger join the Academy staff,”
