ALERT! Due to the adoption of the NAIC's ALERT program, effective August 15, 2000, the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance requires that all Life, Health, Property and Casualty companies' applications for admission (certificates of authority) to be submitted using the National Association of Insurance Commissioner's Uniform Certificate of Authority Application (UCAA). The details of the application, including instructions, forms, application review processes and time lines are found at the NAIC's website: www.naic.org/ucaa The Primary Application should be used by newly-formed Tennessee insurance companies seeking a Certificate of Authority in Tennessee. Those insurers not currently licensed in Tennessee wishing to redomesticate to Tennessee should refer to T.C.A. Title 56, Chapter 11. The Expansion Application should be submitted by all other insurance companies already licensed elsewhere. Should you have difficulty with this process, you may contact Phil Adams or Bob Ribe in this Department's Insurance Division, or you may contact the NAIC at www.naic.org Should you have questions regarding the Anti-Fraud Bulletin, you may contact Robert Heisse in this Department's Insurance Division.
