Tennessee code 55-22 101 mandates "No person, firm or corporation shall operate or conduct any motor vehicle race upon which motor vehicles of any description are raced unless a license to operate and conduct the same shall be first obtained..."

The commissioner of Commerce and Insurance is responsible for the licensing of all motor vehicle race tracks. Application must be completed and fee paid. Also Cerfiticate of Insurance is required with application for license. Minimum Limits of $100,000 - $300,000 Single limits for bodily injury.
