Board Mission

The Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers licenses and regulates funeral directors, embalmers and funeral establishments.

The Burial Services/Cemetery division administers legislative acts that require the establishment of a trust for the protection of those who buy cemetery and funeral property and services.

It is the mission of these offices to protect the public health, safety and welfare by ensuring compliance with the statutes and rules governing the funeral industry, preneed funeral contract sales and cemeteries.
