Announcement: We Are Moving!
- We will be moving to the 2nd floor of the Andrew Johnson Building located at 710 James Robertson Parkway in June 2008.
- The cashier's office for any licensee wanting to pay in person will remain in the Davy Crockett Tower located at 500 James Robertson Parkway.
- The mailing address for this board will remain the same as listed on the right side of this page under 'Contact Information'.
- We apologize for any inconvenience our move may cause.
Our primary focus is to regulate the practice of barbering,
including the licensure and registration of Master Barbers, Barber Instructors, Barber Shops, and Barber Schools.
Our Mission is to protect the public welfare by ensuring
that only qualified persons are certified, permitted, or licensed and
that once licensed these persons uphold the highest appropriate professional
standards of practice, independence, and competency.
Our Vision is to remain the premier regulatory board operating at maximum
efficiency, providing exemplary consumer protection and enhanced quality
improvement for licensees while recognizing that these are changing times
and the nature of professional services must change accordingly.
