National Eldercare Locator

The nationwide Eldercare Locator is a toll free 800 number for identifying the information and referral assistance (I&R/A) services provided by State and Area Agencies on Aging.  This service is funded by the U.S. Administration on Aging and administered by the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging in cooperation with NASUA.  Individuals calling this service have access to more than 4800 state and local information and referral service providers, identified for every ZIP code in the country.  The database also includes special purpose I&R telephone numbers for Alzheimer's hotlines, adult day care and respite services, nursing home ombudsman assistance, consumer fraud, in-home care complaints, legal services, elder abuse/protective services, Medicare/Medicaid/Medigap information, tax assistance and transportation.  The Eldercare Locator - (800) 677-1116 - is available weekdays, 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (ET).

Usual Instructions:  Call the Eldercare Locator toll free by dialing 1 (800) 677-1116.  Monday thru Friday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
 
For calls after normal hours of operation:   After hours, a message recorder is available for the caller to leave a name and a telephone number.  Calls will be returned the next business day.
 
For TDD/TTY service: Access to relay service at (202) 855-1234.  (To reach a live operator, dial (202) 855-1000.)  Note:   This is not a toll free call.  Instruct the Relay Operator to ask the Information Specialist to return the Relay Call.
 
From outside the United States: Dial Biospherics at (301) 419-3900.  When the operator answers ("Biospherics"), ask for Ms. Dalgewicz.  Note: This is not a toll free call.

Health Related Boards Complaint Hotline:

Health Related Boards Investigations can provide you with information about how to file a complaint against a health care professional licensed in the State of Tennessee or advise you if any previous disciplinary actions have been taken against a licensee.  State law prohibits the release of information concerning any investigation that did not result in disciplinary action.
Home Health Agency Complaint Hotline:

The Division of Health Care Facilities manages the federally required Home Health Agency Complaint Hotline.  Any individual who may have concerns over the care they have received or a family member may have received from a Home Health Agency in Tennessee can call this hotline to register their complaint's).
 
Osteoporosis Hotline:

The Osteoporosis Hotline provides both consumers and providers with general information about osteoporosis, including prevention, detection, treatment, side effects of medications, and educational and training programs.

The TennCare Information line is available weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (CT).  TennCare's automated Voice Response System is available around-the-clock.  Operators provide information on eligibility, TennCare Health Plans, TennCare premiums, applications, and address changes.

Operators are available to answer questions concerning the TennCare Partners Program.
 
Tennessee Redline:

The Tennessee Redline is a toll-free telephone service coordinated by the Tennessee Association of Alcohol, Drug and other Addiction Services, under the supervision of the Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities’ Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services. Information specialists are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer questions and provide information and referrals on alcohol, tobacco, other drugs and gambling.
 
Traumatic Brain Injury Hotline:

The Traumatic Brain Injury Hotline provides information on traumatic brain injury data and Tennessee's Traumatic Brain Injury Program.  Staff are available to respond to questions, make referrals, or provide educational information.

Food Stamp Hotline:

Help line to answer questions regarding application, receipt, or use of Food Stamp benefits.  The Food Stamp program is a federally-funded, state administered program that strengthens the food purchasing power of low income individuals and families.
 
QMB (Qualified Medicare Beneficiary Hotline):

For information about eligibility for QMB/SLMB (Special Low Income Medicare Beneficiary) which provides payment of Medicare premiums, deductibles and co-payments by Tennessee's TennCare program.
