    NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Board of Parole will hold its first 2024 administrative board meeting at 9 a.m. Jan. 24, along with executive clemency hearings Jan. 23-25 at James Robertson Parkway in the Davy Crockett Tower, located on the fourth floor in downtown Nashville. The meeting and clemency hearings are open to the public and will be conducted in the Chairman Richard Montgomery Board Room.

  • Board of Parole Chairman Montgomery Announces Retirement

    NASHVILLE – After a dedicated 40-year career of public service, including the last 10 years as Chairman of the Board of Parole, Richard Montgomery announced he will leave state service and retire effective Dec. 29, 2023. Under Montgomery’s leadership, the Board has undergone several enhancements to the parole consideration process including investing in new technology, such as video conferencing and web cameras, which has especially critical to completing the Board’s mission during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Board has also successfully transitioned to a paperless file system that allows board members and hearing officers remote access to large volumes of information.

  • State Agencies to observe National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

    NASHVILLE – The Board of Parole (BOP), Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC), Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and Tennessee Rehabilitative Initiative in Correction (TRICOR) are hosting a dove release ceremony to honor crime victims and recognize victim advocates during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW), April 23-29. The sponsoring agencies will hold the event in Chattanooga at 11 a.m. EDT (10 a.m. CDT) on Friday, April 28 at the Walker Pavilion in Coolidge Park (120 River Street, Chattanooga, TN 37405). As a ceremonial tribute, doves will be released at the conclusion of the event.
