Public Chapter 442 (“the Sunshine Law”) enacted by the 88th General Assembly requires public notice of meetings of all government bodies whose actions can affect public policy. The following notice is hereby given:
STATE SOIL CONSERVATION COMMITTEE TO MEET
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The State Soil Conservation Committee will meet July 23 at 6 p.m. CDT at the Doubletree Hotel, located at 1770 Highway 45 Bypass in Jackson, TN. The agenda includes a review of soil conservation district boards and activities, a report on the Agricultural Resources Conservation Fund, reports from state and federal agricultural agencies, a review of legislative issues and other business as presented.
The meeting is open to the public. Individuals interested in addressing the committee should plan to arrive prior to 6 p.m. in order to be placed on the agenda. The SSCC was created by the Tennessee General Assembly in 1939 for the purpose of assisting in the development of local soil conservation districts. The committee advises the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on matters pertaining to soil and water conservation.
