Educational Requirements for 50% Cost Share

UT Advanced Master Beef Producer/Master Beef Producer

A current Tennessee Beef Quality Assurance Certificate is required in addition to a current UT Advanced Master Beef Producer Certificate or UT Master Beef Producer Certificate.

  • Producers who have previously taken the UT Master Beef Producer Course must submit an UT Advanced Master Beef Certificate for continued 50% TAEP Cost Share based on the schedule below. 
  • Producers who have not taken the UT Master Beef Course in the past can submit either a Master Beef Certificate or an Advanced Master Beef Certificate.

  • University of Tennessee Extension will issue Advanced Master Beef and Master Beef Producer Certificates to individual producers in the name of the producer taking the course and the year it was issued. 
  • To be eligible for 50% TAEP cost share, the UT Master Beef Certificate or Advanced Master Beef Producer Certificate must be in the same name as the individual applying for cost share funding.

Beginning on May 1, 2015 the certificates will expire three (3) years after issuance.

UT Master Dairy Producer

A current Tennessee Beef Quality Assurance Certificate is required in addition to the completion of two modules of the UT Master Dairy Producer Program per year.

  • Training opportunities will be offered by the University of Tennessee.  Modules will be available in 5 regions across the state and last 3 hours per module. 
  • UT will be offering at least three modules during the year - one module in the fall, at least one module in the winter (January or February), and a third module within the year.

Current Tennessee Quality Milk Producer Certificates will expire May 1, 2015. According to UT Officials, opportunities across the state will be available in order for producers to obtain their Master Dairy Producer Certificate by December 1, 2015.

  • University of Tennessee Extension will issue certificates to an individual producer in the name of the producer taking the course and the year the certificate was issued. 
  • To be eligible for 50% TAEP cost share, the UT Master Dairy Certificate must be in the same name as the individual applying for cost share funding.
  • The certificate must be included when a producer submits their reimbursement beginning December 1, 2015.

UT Master Meat Goat

UT Master Meat Goat Certification (includes goats and sheep) will be based on a 3 year period also.

UT Master Nursery Producer Program

The UT Master Nursery Producer Program certification program began in fall of 2012.

  • Certifications will be accepted for 50% cost share in TAEP for a three years period after the certification year.
    • The certification obtained in 2013 will expire on May 1, 2016.
  • University of Tennessee Extension will issue Master Nursery Producer Certificates to individual producers in the name of the producer taking the course and the year it was issued. 
  • To be eligible for 50% TAEP cost share, the UT Master Nursery Certificate must be in the same name as the individual applying for cost share funding.

Certificates will expire three (3) years after issuance.

UT Bee Master Program

The UT Bee Master Program began in 1992 to educate Tennessee Beekeepers.
